The little boy complained to his Dad,<br />
"When I look up, I want to see the whole sky again Dad,<br />
Like remember when we were in the park?<br />
Make the bridge lines go away!"<br />
His Dad was his superhero, he could do anything!<br />
<br />
They were stuck in a huge traffic jam on the bridge.</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">That meant no shortcuts, no way out.<br />
The Dad had no idea how long it'd take<br />
To cross the bridge so they could make it through.<br />
This reminded him of a prolonged period of time<br />
In his life where he'd been stuck.<br />
Everything he did failed. Nothing he did<br />
Moved him forward. Until one day<br />
He became the kind of person it took<br />
To do whatever it takes to set himself free.<br />
<br />
When he looked back now, he realized<br />
That it wasn't that one moment that he decided<br />
But it was every day of the long painful journey<br />
That added up to make him what he needed to be<br />
But was refusing to be because he had been scared.<br />
<br />
What would he tell his younger self<br />
That would have made his journey<br />
Less painful and maybe even a bit joyful?<br />
<br />
To his son, he said,<br />
"Sometimes in life you learn to make the best<br />
Of what you cannot change son. See this bridge,<br />
We don't know how much time it'll take<br />
For us to cross. So we focus on how we're going to cross it<br /></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">For cross it fully we must. If we can do it joyfully</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">For most of this time, we win!"</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br /></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">"No matter what life puts your through</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">Your strength lies in figuring out how to make this journey<br />
As fun and exciting as you can in the meantime.<br />
That is huge power you have in your own hands!<br />Always remember that.<br />
Now who's a strong boy?," he said<br />
As he reached out against his seat belt<br />
To tickle his son as the kid started to laugh<br />
Attempting to wriggle away unsuccessfully<br />
Being restricted by his own seat belt.<br />
<br />
His Dad was his superhero, he could do anything!<br />

<div>
I'm not afraid to go into the dark corners of my soul</div>
<div>
To forgive all the people who never apologized </div>
<div>
To accept all situations that bruised me to the bone</div>
<div>
To let go of all the blame that I placed incorrectly on me.</div>
<div>
Yes I have the strength, I forgive.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I forgive myself for trusting people who didn't deserve it.</div>
<div>
For banking on people's promises, because I believed in keeping them.</div>
<div>
For naively believing they always had my best interests at heart</div>
<div>
Because I always had their best interests in mine.</div>
<div>
For believing people's words because I believed in integrity.</div>
<div>
For thinking they'd be true because I was authentic.</div>
<div>
For not knowing what I know now with reflection.</div>
<div>
I forgive not because they deserve forgiveness but because</div>
<div>
They no longer deserve a place in my kind heart. </div>
<div>
I forgive because I want peace for myself. </div>
<div>
Yes I let it go, I forgive.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I also take responsibility for me and forgive myself </div>
<div>
For the part I played in these events and circumstances</div>
<div>
That were placed on my path to learn and grow.</div>
<div>
Yes it wasn't all them, it was also me, I forgive.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I let go of the grief that I carried not knowing </div>
<div>
Who or what was responsible for it.</div>
<div>
I forgive and release everyone and everything.</div>
<div>
For that's what it takes to heal. To feel fully alive and free.</div>
<div>
To consciously create and nurture a beautiful future for me.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I'm ready. I forgive, surrender and let go of my past.</div>
<div>
I release. Once and for all. And I do this now.</div>
<div>
Because I know I'm doing this for me, not for them.</div>
<div>
My time is too precious to waste trying to explain</div>
<div>
To people what they already know and will keep denying. </div>
<div>
I can genuinely connect only with those who are centered in truth.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I need time to invest in my present and future</div>
<div>
To consciously create the life I want to live.</div>
<div>
I believe in Karma, they'll reap what they sowed.</div>
<div>
Maybe I'll see it. Maybe I won't.</div>
<div>
Maybe at the end of my life, this will be irrelevant.</div>
<div>
Maybe I reaped what I sowed and now the account is settled. </div>
<div>
Yes I have the power to forgive, I forgive. </div>
<div>
I forgive and release everyone and everything.</div>

Why is darkness bad and light good?<div>
Where did this thought originate?</div>
<div>
Who made the final decision?</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Even if light were good,</div>
<div>
It's the darkness that makes me appreciate light?</div>
<div>
Without a parallel to compare, I'd be in the dark?</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I forgot that it's in embracing my shadow</div>
<div>
That I could expand the light within myself.</div>
<div>
It's when I accepted the dark, that I found the light.</div>
<div>
Because I can't work with what is already light to grow,</div>
<div>
It's only the darkness that I can transform into more light.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Even if we assume that the journey is </div>
<div>
From darkness to light, I now want to </div>
<div>
Give darkness it's true credit.</div>
<div>
Because whether I admit it or not</div>
<div>
The darkness exists. </div>
<div>
<div>
Running away from the shadow is way easier yes</div>
<div>
But I find it only perpetuates the darkness in the long term.</div><div>Facing it and working with it, I can find the light.</div><div><br /></div></div>
<div>
Is this why I have a shadow in sunlight?</div>
<div>
To remind me of the companion</div>
<div>
As nothing to run away from but to proactively heal?</div>
<div>
To experience the pain deeply, process and release?</div>
<div>
Is this why when the shadow disappears,</div>
<div>
It's night that is the ultimate darkness?</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Maybe I'll find the answers to these questions</div>
<div>
Maybe I won't. One thing's for sure </div>
<div>
I'm not running anymore. I accept all of me.</div>
<div>
Darkness & Light.</div>

"Does the window open inwards or outwards Sir?"<br />
The curious little boy asked the wise old monk<br />
As he skipped alongside him joyfully.<br />
There was a beautiful closed vintage window<br />
They'd just passed by.<br />
"Open it both ways one day and see for yourself,"<br />
The old monk had said.<br />
<br />
When the little boy came back as a young man<br />
To visit the old monk from his childhood again,<br />
He asked him the same question in frustration,<br />
"Does the window open inwards or outwards Sir?"<br />
The old monk understood. He said,<br />
"Well that depends young man,<br />
Do you want long term fulfillment<br />
Or instant gratification?"<br />
<br />
"Ah," exclaimed the young man, "so inwards it is."<br />
"I did not say that," countered the monk.<br />
"What do you mean then Sir," prodded the young man.<br />
<br />
"You may choose one or the other or<br />
Even create a little bit of both in your own personal mix,<br />
Make sure to watch out though so it doesn't become your fix.<br />
Change your preference with time or have it the same.<br />
<br />
What matters is that you choose consciously.<br />
What matters is that it's a deliberate decision<br />
That is true to who you are authentically<br />
And not a result of unconscious conditioning.<br />
Whether you're aware of it or not,<br />
It's a choice you have. And your life will reflect it.<br />
It's never too late. Choose wisely."<br />
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
The old monk concluded.</div>

I wasn't born so I could be married one day.<br />
<div>
I'd rather amount to nothing on my own</div>
<div>
Than be something only because I married. </div>
<div>
That is not the life I choose for me.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I don't have anything against marriage</div>
<div>
I think the irony is that I'm too for it.</div>
<div>
I'm in it for the loyalty, the commitment</div>
<div>
The affection, the love, the partnership.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I cannot and will not marry</div>
<div>
For the sake of being married. </div>
<div>
That's just not who I am</div>
<div>
And that's just not something I can do.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
When I decide to marry</div>
<div>
It will be with a man who is my match.</div>
<div>
Someone who I respect, who respects me</div>
<div>
And we're mutually able to visualize a future together.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Someone who inspires me</div>
<div>
To be the best version of me</div>
<div>
Bolstering my strength when I fail</div>
<div>
This I will do for him too.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We are great at being independent</div>
<div>
We take responsibility for our own happiness.</div>
<div>
Life is just more fun together than apart</div>
<div>
Learning new things and conquering life's challenges.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Inspired by the line in the poem by Bianca Sparacino</div>
<div>
He'll be my safe place and my biggest adventure</div>
<div>
As I will be his. We will create our future together</div>
<div>
As equals brought together by Destiny for good karma.</div>

Sometimes in life you get burnt.<br />
Sometimes it's to rediscover<br />
The beauty within.<br />
Sometimes it's to know that<br />
No matter how much you get burnt<br />
You're intact on the inside.<br />
<br />
Sometimes it's to make you stronger<br />
To make you a better version of you<br />
To take off the rose-colored glasses<br />
And see the world for what it is,<br />
Make better decisions going forward.<br />
<br />
When you realize you get more of<br />
What you focus on<br />
You learn to focus on the beauty<br />
From the burns<br />
And not the burns in themselves.<br />
<br />
Lessons hard-won needed to be<br />
Learnt that way<br />
For I wouldn't have learnt<br />
What I needed to<br />
Any other way.<br />

Hey gorgeous, you've done it!<br />
You've mourned the loss of who you once were<br />
A shadow of the real magnificent you.<br />
You killed your old self so you could be reborn.<br />
It took guts and courage. You had it in you.<br />
<br />
You've also mourned the loss of people and situations<br />
Who will not be moving forward with you<br />
As you learnt the lessons they were here to teach<br />
The cords disconnected. They were only chapters.<br />
You're the book. Craft a brand new story for you!<br />
<br />
Release and free yourself from carrying others' burdens<br />
Give it back. It was never yours to carry in the first place.<br />
Know that by carrying this you're doing them a disservice.<br />
Allow them to deal with their own baggage. That's how they heal<br />
The only thing you carry is the wisdom that was hard-won.<br />
<br />
When you meet people who are driven by pure self-interest<br />
Give yourself permission to match them. You don't have to be good<br />
To people who exploit your kindness. Don't enable their bad behavior<br />
For they will then continue to operate from an illusion of lack.<br />
If they can't meet you halfway, wish them love and light. Walk away.<br />
<br />
You can't change anyone unless they want to<br />
You can't break yourself enough to build another.<br />
They'll only take and leave when you have no more<br />
Of yourself to destroy to create them. Keep it moving.<br />
Allow them to learn their own lessons.<br />
<br />
When you meet people who are driven<br />
By mutual interest or creating win-win outcomes<br />
Collaborate with them. Together you can create<br />
More than what you can each on your own.<br />
Build solid partnerships built on trust and reciprocity.<br />
<br />
When you meet rare people like your former self<br />
Who look out for everyone else but themselves<br />
Cherish, nourish and protect the goodness in them.<br />
Show them how to build and hold strong boundaries<br />
When they stand in their own power, your job is done.<br />
<br />
Send a heartfelt wish into the universe to meet people<br />
Who understand the inter-connectedness of everyone and everything<br />
Souls that recognize that place within them that they know<br />
Can never be created or destroyed. That is who they are in truth.<br />
They are those who walk the earth in absolute freedom.<br />
<br />

Own all of you,<div>
The light and the dark</div>
<div>
For it's this juxtaposition and</div>
<div>
What you make of it that</div>
<div>
Makes you who you are</div>
<div>
And who you decide to be.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Give up on perfection</div>
<div>
It puts you in a box</div>
<div>
You have nothing to prove</div>
<div>
To others or even to yourself.</div>
<div>
Allow yourself to flow freely</div>
<div>
To be authentically you.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Love every part of you</div>
<div>
Build a solid sense of self.</div>
<div>
Know your own worth.</div>
<div>
Always have the courage </div>
<div>
To chase your dreams</div>
<div>
Success or failure is irrelevant.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Do things that make you happy</div>
<div>
That make you feel alive</div>
<div>
That make you breathe easy</div>
<div>
And fill you with joy.</div>
<div>
Live such that if you died tomorrow</div>
<div>
It'll have been a life well lived for you.</div>

Criss-Cross, Criss-Cross<br />
The paths cross.<br />
People come and go.<br />
Sometimes they come back<br />
Other times they don't.<br />
Sometimes even if they come back<br />
I don't.<br />
<br />
Makes me wonder<br />
If I have any free will at all.<br />
Looking back, I don't think I could have<br />
Made them come. Or go.<br />
Or stay. Or return.<br />
Or leave again.<br />
<br />
Is everything then divine orchestration?<br />
If I can't control anything<br />
Does that make me powerless<br />
Or powerful?<br />
Is the lesson then to<br />
Give up the illusion of control?<br />
I'm thinking if I can give up control<br />
That's true power?<br />
It's a declaration that I'm ready<br />
For anything that life might bring.<br />
Why does this feel like true freedom?<br />
<br />
Maybe the point was just to<br />
Open me up to life?<br />
Maybe the point is<br />
Not about the other people<br />
But about my own journey<br />
Into myself.<br />
<br />
With the intense lessons<br />
If I can process it right<br />
I'm a different person<br />
When I come out on the other side.<br />
Maybe that was the point of the connection.<br />
Not to stay together but<br />
To grow from the experience<br />
And take the new direction<br />
That it inspired.<br />
We match to learn and teach<br />
Once the lesson is learnt<br />
The cords disconnect.<br />
<br />
It's a perfect match<br />
For both me and the other person.<br />
We're mirrors then<br />
Reflecting to the other<br />
What they most need to heal<br />
To progress on the journey of life.<br />
<br />
When I review situations this way<br />
Then there's no blaming the other<br />
Or taking on guilt<br />
For how the situation unfolded.<br />
We both did the best we could<br />
Given our respective levels of consciousness<br />
At that point in time.<br />
<br />
Of course I'm responsible for my actions<br />
As they are to theirs.<br />
Responsible to have grown<br />
From the experience to behave better<br />
The next time around.<br />
And along the way learning<br />
Forgiveness, gratitude and<br />
Unconditional love<br />
For the self and the other<br />
For delivering on a difficult<br />
Soul mission well.<br />
Mission Accomplished.<br />

The freedom she was seeking<br />
Outside of herself from the world<br />
Was to stop running from herself.<br />
The irony of it amused her.<br />
The moment she understood this<br />
She broke down all the barriers<br />
That kept her from herself<br />
And finally found her way home<br />
Never to lose it again.<br />
<br />
Reflecting on what it took<br />
Made her smile.<br />
Abandonment, rejection, betrayal<br />
Dashed hopes, failed ambitions<br />
Invalidation, disrespect<br />
Physical injuries, codependency<br />
Financial insecurity, injustice<br />
Lies, cheating, manipulation<br />
Broken dreams, shattered soul<br />
False masks, the works!<br />
<br />
It took everything<br />
All of her. Over a period of time.<br />
She doesn't regret it one bit.<br />
The rewards are worth it.<br />
<br />
It's like hitting rock bottom<br />
Is what it took<br />
For her to want herself<br />
To choose herself.<br />
<br />
Now rock bottom became<br />
Her favorite hangout spot.<br />
It helped her become aware<br />
Of where she needed to heal<br />
For the world was only mirroring<br />
Back to her who she was on the inside.<br />
Deeply hurt attracting more hurt.<br />
She poked at her own wounds<br />
To analyse and understand<br />
Where and why it hurt.<br />
She learnt to heal herself.<br />
She reclaimed all the parts<br />
Of herself she'd given away<br />
And became whole again.<br />
<br />
She understood that<br />
She could only hold on to the limited.<br />
She can only become one with the infinite possibility<br />
She could not contain it.<br />
She began to understand grace and flow.<br />
She aspired to be one<br />
With the Universe<br />
For trying to control it was futile<br />
Playing along joy.<br />

I see you, I hear you, I understand.<br />
Yes, he exists.<br />
The one you were searching for<br />
In everyone you met.<br />
Yes, he'll want to love you<br />
To the depths of your soul.<br />
Yes, he'd take a bullet for you<br />
In a heartbeat<br />
Just like you would for him.<br />
<br />
He'll match you and your ocean<br />
No it won't feel like effort to him<br />
He'll swim effortlessly in you.<br />
Yes, you can swim in him too<br />
Once he knows you are who you are.<br />
You will both be infinite.<br />
To reciprocate your love<br />
It's what he's been longing to give<br />
He is who you are too.<br />
He'll be delighted to meet you.<br />
<br />
They'll try their best to convince you<br />
The 5-minute lovers<br />
That something is fundamentally<br />
Wrong with you. Settle already!<br />
They'll call you crazy<br />
That you have to take reality into account.<br />
What you're looking for doesn't exist.<br />
They'll take for as long as you give<br />
They'll keep you confused.<br />
When you ask where you stand<br />
They'll tell you they never wanted that much.<br />
You gave. With little to no investment in return.<br />
They will reject you for anyone else easily.<br />
<br />
They'll also have multiple partners all at once<br />
And keep them all hidden from each other<br />
Except to deliberately induce jealousy as and when needed.<br />
You'll become insecure<br />
And wonder why what you were offering wasn't enough<br />
To convince them that what you're offering is all they can ever need.<br />
You're the best insurance they can have for life.<br />
Remember then that what you were offering wasn't less<br />
It was too much.<br />
<br />
Power, control and manipulation<br />
Will be the game you're in.<br />
You'll tell yourself you never signed up for that.<br />
They'll make you feel like a fool.<br />
You'll question your intelligence for trusting.<br />
It'll crush your soul. Break your bones.<br />
One time. Several times. Many times.<br />
You will rebuild.<br />
<br />
In time, you will learn to forgive.<br />
Them and more importantly yourself.<br />
You will learn that they're not wrong.<br />
Their needs are just different from yours.<br />
They don't want the forever kind of love<br />
Or even if they want it<br />
They want maximum returns for minimum investment.<br />
They didn't reject you, you both repelled.<br />
They're not better or worse than you<br />
For it's never a comparison.<br />
They were not your match as you weren't theirs.<br />
As simple as that.<br />
You can't force a connection where none exists.<br />
Don't judge them for in other ways<br />
They can be quite compatible with you.<br />
You might even care for them truly<br />
They just can't be your romantic partner.<br />
<br />
When you develop a higher perspective<br />
You'll understand that they were here<br />
To teach you life lessons on self-love<br />
And knowing your own worth<br />
So one day you can shine<br />
In all your glory knowing who you are<br />
And what you bring to the table.<br />
You'll know you're exactly the kind of rare<br />
You want to be.<br />
<br />
Yes, he exists.<br />
You will always know where you stand with him.<br />
Yes, he will be his first. He'll love everyone.<br />
But romantically, you will be his one and only.<br />
You will never have a doubt in your mind about this.<br />
Neither will anyone else. He'll make sure of that.<br />
<br />
Life with him will be effortless.<br />
For you'll speak the same language.<br />
He'll be your best friend, lover and life partner<br />
All rolled into one.<br />
It'll be irrelevant how much time you get together<br />
Between both your busy schedules<br />
You belong to each other romantically.<br />
And that will be that.<br />
And you'll long for more moments with each other<br />
In a happy way.<br />
<br />
When you meet him<br />
His eyes will sparkle<br />
His smile will be a little bit different<br />
He'll breathe easier<br />
His mind will automatically calm down<br />
For you will be his meditation.<br />
When he rests his head on your shoulder<br />
And links his arm through yours<br />
To hold your hand<br />
As you sit together on a park bench<br />
He'll have his whole world<br />
You will feel him<br />
Because you feel just the same.<br />
<br />
Stop searching for him you forever woman<br />
It's not your job to convert the 5-minute lovers<br />
Into your forever man.<br />
You're not a failure for not being able to convert them.<br />
Even if the books, movies and music you loved<br />
Told you that you have to fix and heal a stone to become water.<br />
That that's what's the power of true love.<br />
<br />
Know that your love was, is and always will be true.<br />
You don't control how someone else feels and acts.<br />
It's not personal, no matter how personal it feels.<br />
<div>
The truth is you don't have the right to change anyone.</div>
They get to be who they want to be.<br />
And likewise you get to be who you want to be.<br />
Besides you don't want to be wondering<br />
If they'll go back to their original ways.<br />
This will cause you to self-destruct<br />
Because you can't be in a situation<br />
Where loyalty is up for debate.<br />
<br />
Don't try to convert yourself into a 5-minute lover either<br />
You'll fail horribly. It's not who you are.<br />
Plus you'll find the more you allow<br />
He'll want to push your boundaries further<br />
To see how far he can go.<br />
You weren't born to be treated in<br />
Any which way that does not equal<br />
How you treat him.<br />
Know you have the power to walk away<br />
It won't feel powerful<br />
But know that it's all you can do.<br />
Keep walking. Keep it moving.<br />
<br />
Yes, he exists.<br />
Your forever man.<br />
Take refuge in this fact<br />
Until this will be all you need.<br />
Know that he walks the same earth as you do<br />
He breathes the same air as you do<br />
He feels the same way as you.<br />
The dark tapestry that holds the stars at night<br />
Is the same sky you both look at<br />
When you think of each other.<br />
He makes a wish to these stars<br />
That you be safe and happy.<br />
He's fought the same battles you have<br />
Yes all on his own.<br />
Don't blame yourself for not being there to protect him<br />
Before you met him.<br />
For he wasn't there for you when you most needed him either.<br />
You both needed to learn to take care of yourselves first.<br />
<br />
It's alright if others reject you<br />
And make you feel less than, not enough.<br />
Never reject yourself for being different<br />
For being and feeling like a lone soldier.<br />
<br />
Forget acceptance, know that your forever man<br />
Celebrates you, every moment of his every breath.<br />
He's incredibly proud of you for being you.<br />
Besides the more you accept who you are<br />
You come more into alignment<br />
Life will take on a quality of unbridled joy.<br />
It won't matter that you haven't met him<br />
Or you might never in this lifetime.<br />
Want to know why? Your life isn't about him.<br />
He is not your destination or a trophy to win.<br />
He's your partner in the journey of life<br />
As you both fulfill your respective missions.<br />
He's the chocolate chip cookie to your ice-cream.<br />
He's not the ice-cream. You are.<br />
<br />
Knowing there are others like you will be enough.<br />
It'll get you through the years you have on this planet<br />
Happily. Because when you're a forever woman<br />
Only a forever man will do for you.<br />
There's no choosing anything different.<br />
How to know for sure there are others like you?<br />
Because I exist.<br />
Stay strong, stay true to you my forever woman<br />
For I'm counting on it.<br />
Until we meet, ours truly,<br />
Your forever man.</div>

I don't know what's come over me<br />
I was never this way before.<br />
But I'm falling in love with animals.<br />
Their innocence charms me.<br />
<br />
I can't decide which is my favorite!<br />
Between the Tiger & Elephants<br />
Giraffes & Monkeys<br />
Wallabies & Rhinos<br />
Or Hippos Or giant Tortoises!<br />
<br />
The way the zoo keepers<br />
Care for these animals<br />
It makes me very happy.<br />
Totally makes my day.<br />
<br />
Maybe this is what I'd like to do<br />
When I retire for good.<br />
Become a zoo keeper.<br />
What qualifications would I need for that?<br />
Sigh I studied all the unnecessary things<br />
Growing up, such a waste of good time.<br />
<br />
Hanging out in the sun<br />
With the animals<br />
Seems like a good way to go!<br />
Animals & Me<br />
We are meant to be!<br />

Once upon a time<br />
There lived Yin and Yang.<br />
They lived far away from each other.<br />
Each didn't know the other existed.<br />
<br />
They kept searching frantically<br />
Outside of themselves<br />
For what each already had within.<br />
It took them a while to understand this.<br />
<br />
In the process they ended up<br />
Depleting their life energies<br />
On situations and people<br />
Who only took from them.<br />
<br />
They were made to be<br />
Fools & Losers.<br />
And yet they always did the right thing<br />
For they believed in Karma.<br />
<br />
When they couldn't handle no more<br />
They decided to break themselves<br />
To create the best versions of themselves.<br />
They took back their power.<br />
<br />
Pretty soon they realized<br />
Each was both Yin & Yang<br />
They were just different energies<br />
They needed to tap into.<br />
<br />
Whole now within themselves<br />
They stopped looking out.<br />
That's when they met.<br />
Yin and Yang<br />
Never to separate again.<br />

One day you will have figured it out<br />
How to re-create what you felt in Leh<br />
In the middle of Hyderabad.<br />
You'll manage to create a life for yourself<br />
That you don't feel like you have to<br />
Run away or Escape from.<br />
<br />
You will say no to things<br />
That don't feel like fun.<br />
The world's got nothing on you.<br />

You will dance and sing in the streets<br />
And look for Eagles at traffic jams.<br />
You'll speak your mind<br />
Give back as good as you get.<br />
<br />
People will stare and think you're crazy.<br />
Knowing what you know<br />
It wouldn't matter one bit.<br />
You live for you.<br />
<br />
You'll finally stop hoarding things<br />
And wanting people to stay in your life.<br />
They can come and go as they please<br />
For it doesn't affect you in an existential way.<br />
<br />
You won't always be happy<br />
You'll be cool with that.<br />
You'll stop trying to control the outcome<br />
By projecting everything into the future<br />
Because you don't care how they turn out.<br />
All that matters is you live true to you now.<br />
<br />
You won't have any fixed destination<br />
Often you don't know where you're going<br />
Or how your plans are going to materialize<br />
But you'll know whatever happens<br />
You're going to be ok.<br />
And even if you're not<br />
You're ok with not being ok.<br />
<br />
You'll finally realize<br />
That this is what True Freedom looks like.<br />
The Freedom you wanted all along<br />
Will finally be yours.<br />

How are you doing today?<br />
Had something cool to say to you.<br />
One day you will realize that<br />
A lot of what you believed in was a lie.<br />
<br />
It was a story you told yourself<br />
Based off an unaware conditioning.<br />
Initially it will be extremely unsettling<br />
As your world view shatters.<br />
<br />
Slowly you'll find<br />
That was the liberation you were seeking.<br />
Freedom from all the chains<br />
You'd placed on yourself<br />
And held the world accountable for too.<br />
Turns out you were always free.<br />
And they were too.<br />
<br />
You'll find yourself smiling<br />
For no specific reason.<br />
You'll hear for the first time<br />
What your laughter sounds like.<br />
Slowly you'll build yourself<br />
A new world view.<br />
One that works for you.<br />
<br />
You'll let go of everything<br />
To find everything in you.<br />
It will take a leap of faith.<br />
You will take it.<br />
<br />
You will see yourself<br />
You will hear yourself<br />
Like you never did before.<br />
You'll do little things that<br />
Light you up on the inside.<br />
<br />
Your soul will feel alive<br />
Your energy levels high<br />
You will feel zero resistance<br />
As you make confident decisions.<br />
<br />
You'll have finally stopped<br />
Chasing and running.<br />
You'll find yourself whole<br />
When you're on your own.<br />
<br />
You were always whole love<br />
You just didn't see it then.<br />

She knows who she is<br />
<div>
What she wants </div>
<div>
And goes after it full steam ahead.</div>
<div>
<div>
Knows her own worth </div>
<div>
Loves herself </div>
<div>
For all she is and all she is not.</div>
<div>
Stands strong, is so too.<br />
Her beauty shined through.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div>
Love and Loyalty </div>
<div>
Are hallmarks she lives by</div>
<div>
She lives intensely</div>
<div>
True to herself.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Joy comes naturally to her</div>
<div>
For she lives life on her own terms.</div>
<div>
She is loved for her authenticity</div>
<div>
She wishes the best for everyone.<br />
<br />
Learning something new<br />
Always brought a sparkle to her eyes.<br />
Anything that expanded her mind<br />
And perception or consciousness<br />
Made her appreciate life in all its glory.<br />
<br />
Music empowered her to self-explore<br />
Dancing set her free.<br />
As much as she allowed the external journeys<br />
To fill her with wonder<br />
She delighted in the journey inward<br />
To fill her soul.</div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
She negotiated for win-win situations</div>
<div>
If such a solution cannot be arrived at</div>
<div>
Exits peacefully efficiently.</div>
<div>
She doesn't believe in wasting time</div>
<div>
In dead-end situations.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
She allows people to be who they are</div>
<div>
For it's their right to be so</div>
<div>
Just like it's her right to be who she is.</div>
<div>
She knows that some people</div>
<div>
She's going to be loving from a distance</div>
<div>
For the everyday chaos is not worth it.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
She's the divine feminine.</div>
<div>
Compassionate and gentle</div>
<div>
Patient and graceful.</div>
<div>
Mess with her </div>
<div>
And you might just lose her forever.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
She isn't looking for a fight</div>
<div>
But she'll gladly finish it if she has to.</div>
<div>
Take her for granted and</div>
<div>
She'll make a quick exit</div>
<div>
She believes in reciprocity.</div>
<div>
She forgives but doesn't forget.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Complete all in herself</div>
<div>
With or without a man.</div>
<div>
She'll only say yes to the One</div>
<div>
Who is her equal</div>
<div>
In the departments she cares for.<br />
She knew what she'd started out to get<br />
She didn't settle for less.<br />
<br />
She knew she didn't fit in<br />
She was too straightforward for some<br />
Too strong, too smart<br />
Too nice, too idealistic<br />
Too opinionated, too demanding<br />
Too optimistic, too fairy tale-like<br />
Too real, too naive.<br />
Too intimidating, too powerful.<br />
Too beautiful, too ordinary.<br />
Too heroic, too much victim.<br />
Too much. Too little. Too whatever.<br />
To herself she was the woman.<br />
<br />
All she wanted in the end<br />
Was to create and live a life that<br />
She'd be proud of.<br />
And if that didn't fit societal ideals<br />
That was fine by her.<br />
She wanted to live such that<br />
If she were to die tomorrow<br />
She'd be cool with that.<br />
She lived every moment<br />
Like it were her last.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
She's The Woman.</div>

I'm starting to understand the difference<br />
Between chapters and the book.<br />
Certain people and situations can only be chapters.<br />
I'm the book.<br />
<br />
All the chaos in the world arises<br />
When I try to force a chapter<br />
To stay in the book.<br />
When the chapter's contribution<br />
To the book is complete,<br />
It needs to go.<br />
<br />
It's when I completely let go of the old chapters<br />
Will I be able to make space to re-imagine a new destiny.<br />
The key is to always remember<br />
That I decide what happens next.<br />
If I hand over the pen to someone else<br />
They'll write the remaining chapters as it works for them<br />
Maybe they'll even exclude me from my own story.<br />
<br />
So now that I've taken responsibility for my own book<br />
The chapters stay chapters.<br />
Having said that<br />
I eagerly await the arrival of<br />
The new books that will take the shelf with me.<br />
Maybe we'll be the same genre<br />
Maybe we'll get put in the Spirituality division<br />
Or Philosophy or maybe Art?<br />
Or maybe we were written during a certain time-frame.<br />
Maybe we'll all be hardbound<br />
With all the life lessons learned to date.<br />
For if there's one thing we've learnt<br />
It's that we've got to be careful about who we trust<br />
But maybe it won't prevent us<br />
From being vulnerable<br />
Because we understand that<br />
It takes an open heart to love<br />
For from vulnerability comes strength.<br />
<br />
And maybe the new books as company<br />
Will inspire better chapters in my story.<br />
Maybe we'll teach each other a few tricks<br />
To add more fun and joy.<br />
Maybe we'll have a party<br />
When the librarian's out!<br />
Maybe we'll learn to sing and dance again<br />
As the spark comes back into our eyes<br />
Maybe we'll treasure each other<br />
As we wink in understanding<br />
Our respective journeys are what it took<br />
To bring us here<br />
And if this is where we get to end up<br />
We'd gladly make peace with the journey thus far!<br />

<div>
Being ghosted by someone </div>
<div>
Who I thought I was going to marry</div>
<div>
Has turned out to be the biggest blessing.</div>
<div>
It put me in a state of inner turmoil for years</div>
<div>
And significant cognitive dissonance might I add.</div>
<div>
They were consistent for three months</div>
<div>
Even if we only connected online.</div>
<div>
They told me they wanted to marry me</div>
<div>
And then bailed. Just like that.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
To add insult to injury</div>
<div>
They told me we could be friends</div>
<div>
If I was at all interested on that level</div>
<div>
Though they weren't sure if it would work</div>
<div>
And anyway they were certain they were going to </div>
<div>
Find someone better than me.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Looking back it was such a stroke of genius</div>
<div>
To blame someone else for their own lack of chivalry</div>
<div>
To do the right thing.</div>
<div>
To tell someone you weren't going to be able</div>
<div>
To keep the promises you made</div>
<div>
And that you were truly sorry.</div>
<div>
Simple, straightforward and effective.</div>
<div>
I'd respect this man </div>
<div>
Even if we didn't end up together.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
In retrospect I love the beauty that is ghosting<br />
For when the other person disappears<br />
You're forced to do the most difficult thing in the world<br />
To go inwards.<br />
When the pain becomes unbearable<br />
And the same lessons keep repeating<br />
You break. Then you decide to choose different.<br />
When I couldn't find justice through him<br />
And din't know how to heal<br />
I went inwards.<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
This brought out all the deeply hidden</div>
<div>
Abandonment and self-worth issues to be healed.</div>
<div>
They'd told me I wasn't good enough for them.</div>
<div>
I'd have taken a bullet for this person at the time.</div>
<div>
I'd told myself they'll realize my worth </div>
<div>
And come back one day</div>
<div>
Like in the movies, books, poems and music.</div>
<div>
They'll realize I was the one.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Now that I've had time to heal</div>
<div>
I ask myself why would I want</div>
<div>
To marry someone like this?</div>
<div>
Flaky and sneaky at best.</div>
<div>
Probably had someone else lined up</div>
<div>
Even before they broke up with me.</div>
<div>
Is this the kind of life partner I was seeking?</div>
<div>
Why had I allowed them to set my worth?</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
When I started busting these ghosts</div>
<div>
The ghoster had left behind</div>
<div>
I started healing.</div>
<div>
Discovered that closure from such a person</div>
<div>
Meant nothing. </div>
<div>
They'd just lie some more. And backtrack.</div>
<div>
And play again. Rinse. Repeat. Recycle.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I had nothing to prove to them or anyone else.</div>
<div>
Oh and for the loving and loyal person that I am</div>
<div>
If karma were to defend itself,</div>
<div>
I certainly deserve better than them.</div>
<div>
And as I understand self-love and self-worth</div>
<div>
I'm realizing even if I don't find someone </div>
<div>
Worthy of my love and loyalty in this lifetime</div>
<div>
I'm so much better off living out</div>
<div>
The rest of my life on my own</div>
<div>
Than with someone like them.</div>
<div>
This toxicity I can do without.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So glad I had the guts to walk away</div>
<div>
I was hurting. I was confused.</div>
<div>
But I walked away. </div>
<div>
And stayed away.</div>
<div>
And eventually found the courage within me</div>
<div>
To learn the lessons life intended for me to learn </div>
<div>
From this ghoster custom-made for me</div>
<div>
To teach me exactly what I needed to learn.</div>

I'd always looked for a knight in shining armor.<br />
Someone who'd swoop in and save the day and me.<br />
Except reflecting now, I realize<br />
That the counterpart for the knight<br />
Was the damsel in distress.<br />
I was subconsciously playing this part<br />
Until the knight was playing the gallant knight.<br />
Until he knew how to treat a lady.<br />
When he stopped doing the right thing,<br />
The damsel left to take care of her own life.<br />
Put together the pieces while hurting<br />
But put together the pieces she did.<br />
<br />
Also I realize now that the knights<br />
Were just as wounded as she was<br />
Because like attracts like<br />
They didn't know any better.<br />
She tried to save them instead<br />
Until she realized she couldn't.<br />
Only they could do that for them<br />
Like only she could heal herself.<br />
Lose-lose situation was therefore the only outcome.<br />
<br />
The damsel then made the decision to upgrade<br />
To the Queen that she's always been<br />
Not just because she'd earned her own living<br />
But more importantly for who she is<br />
And what she's stood for against all odds.<br />
<br />
Soon enough the newly self-aware Queen<br />
Realized that only a King<br />
In his true power can be her counterpart.<br />
Their moral compasses align.<br />
They're independent not codependent<br />
They love themselves<br />
They know who they are<br />
And know what they're worth.<br />
They build their world together as equals<br />
Always being there but never dominating.<br />
Always remembering<br />
That self love was their first responsibility<br />
And thereby not deriving their supply of<br />
Happiness or worth from their partner<br />
Carefully hand-crafted by life for each other<br />
They treasured what they shared<br />
More than any material riches this world could offer.<br />
They found a different kind of fairy-tale ending those two<br />
As they loved happily ever after.<br />
<br />
<br /></div>

I used to wonder<br />
How there was always<br />
So much chaos and<br />
So much confusion in my life.<br />
It was a never ending tragedy<br />
With me in the starring role of<br />
The Damsel in Distress.<br />
The same damsel<br />
Romanticized across pop culture.<br />
You saw her everywhere -<br />
Books, Movies, Theater, Music.<br />
Waiting for her knight in shining armor<br />
Who'd swoop in and save the day.<br />
Or her. Save her. Fix her. Love her.<br />
She didn't have a solid sense of self<br />
She allowed what she saw<br />
To dictate who she became.<br />
<br />
Cut to now.<br />
She sees through what it was really.<br />
She just didn't want to take responsibility for herself.<br />
She thought it was someone else's job.<br />
She was taking care of everyone else but her<br />
So that means others should take care of her?<br />
What kind of warped logic was that?<br />
Turns out she'd misunderstood how life operated<br />
On a very fundamental level.<br />
<br />
In her perpetual search for<br />
Love, acceptance and protection<br />
Outside of herself<br />
She kept giving away her power to others<br />
Who didn't know their own power either.<br />
She was contributing to the drama<br />
To get her needs met.<br />
But they weren't met.<br />
They couldn't be.<br />
Instead she created self-defeating patterns<br />
That became unconscious prisons for the mind.<br />
<br />
Now I love myself<br />
I honor who I am<br />
I'm learning to take full responsibility for me.<br />
I cannot save or fix others<br />
Just like they cannot save or fix me.<br />
We can inspire each other yes<br />
But each person has to put in the work<br />
For themselves for it's an inside job.<br />
<br />
When most battles are in the mind<br />
I'm the only one who can untangle<br />
And free myself of the mess I created.<br />
This is not selfishness.<br />
This is being self-full.<br />
This is stepping out of the way<br />
So each person can step into their own power<br />
Without enabling the bad behavior<br />
That romanticizes playing the victim.<br />
<br />
Turns out the victim is not the hero<br />
Even in pop culture.<br />
I want to be the hero in my own story.<br />
I swoop in to save the day.<br />
I take very good care of me.<br />
Oh and I steer clear of drama.<br />
Turns out I cannot be confused<br />
And clear at the same time.<br />
So I deliberately choose clarity.<br />
Tis Time to step out of the victim hood.<br />
No time to create drama really<br />
When you've got to go be a hero!<br />

I'm constantly surprised<br />
By how many people think<br />
Getting away with something<br />
Is smart.<br />
Making a promise and not keeping it<br />
Means nothing.<br />
Being rude is cool.<br />
That gentleness is a weakness.<br />
That kindness means open to exploitation.<br />
That being nice is being foolish.<br />
That to be truly successful<br />
Is to be selfish not self-full<br />
To Always watch your back<br />
To plan and plot and scheme<br />
Not just to build your own empire<br />
But to profit at another's expense<br />
So they can get to the top faster.<br />
<br />
What is this top that everyone is after?<br />
If the journey involves<br />
Piling up so much negative Karma<br />
How can the destination grant happiness?<br />
<br />
I want a different kind of journey.<br />
The kind of journey that puts<br />
Joy right in the middle of it.<br />
I'm starting to see how once this happens<br />
I don't seem to care too much about the destination.<br />
The only certain destination I have is death.<br />
While I'm on my way there<br />
I want to go alive, punching, kicking<br />
Laughing & crying<br />
But feeling like I've lived my life<br />
While I still had the chance.<br />
That's the kind of cool I'm after.<br />
